June 18, 2009 - Global Justice

On April 9th, 2009 members of the Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT) from the Phillippines along with CUPE Local 4600 met with members of our local to discuss ways to support each other in our fight for public services and respect for workers rights. This was highlighted in the June 2009 edition of The Collective. As well, at the May GMM, our members passed a motion to donate $500 to the Global Justice Fund.

The annual CUPE BC Convention wrapped up last week in Victoria BC. Local 116 sent 6 delegates to attend and represent the local. The theme of the convention was "Meeting the Challenge"
